Volumes 1 and 2 bound together. 1st edition. Bound in half calf with cloth boards. Front board detached. Spine only held on one hinge and detached from the spine block. Covers rubbed and worn. Both volumes have the same engraved view of Derby taken from a painting in the possession of Mr. Harwood. Thus, one is extra. At the beginning of volume 2 there is an extra plate inserted. This is a copy of the town plan of Derby from the 1610 map by John Speed. Edges uncut. Ex-library, may have the usual library/used-book markings inside. 1st endpaper and 1st view plate are grubby and marked, otherwise internally clean.
