Instead of life getting better, addictions take over the thinking process, which increase emotional suffering. Furthermore, meaning, purpose, love and hope become a fading experience, and life becomes an empty experience. The fact is we don't live well without love, and a healthy living journey begins with learning how to love oneself. People who love themselves don't make harmful decisions.
