This book is a treasure mine of Imperial Roman armour. It uses a wide variety of sources both visual and written. It is not perfect however and the scattering of the pictures throughout the book makes for a lot of page flipping at times. The coloured illustrations by Graham Sumner really make the descriptions stand out and are works of art in their own right.
