Kuo offers a new method to the Nyquist stability criterion that requires only one simple plot for a wide class of transfer functions and broadens his treatment of reduced-order approximation of high-order systems; PID controller design, lead-lag and pole-zero cancellation control; stability analysis; and bridged-T controller design. Classical state variable methods are discussed and disturbance rejection and design with sensitivity considerations are dealt with. An examination of robust control design at the entry level is also included. Both the accompanying software disks and software manual have been revised and expanded.
