I used my mother's copy of this book as a child. IMO, it is the best for learning techniques, building cooking skills, and refreshing skills you may not use often. People with these skills do not have to spend a fortune on prepackaged or delivered meals. When you know how to cook from scratch, you know what is in your food!
My son now uses my copy of this same book, so I am ordering one for him. I told my son the same thing my mother told me years ago; "You cannot have my copy. You need your own!" LOL

I got 1 for me, and 1 for a gift. I had seen it at an elderly friends home , and looked it up and you had it. The gift will be for a wedding, alone with my gift of an iron frying pan. Freda

One of my best cookbooks
The first time I used the BH&G Cook Book was in the 70s, my mother started using it when I took a sabbatical to American Samoa. When I returned, my mother would not give my book back so I had to order another one. This one will go to my sister, who is getting married soon. This is a great first cookbook and one to use everyday.
