Outdated, sadly
With the nature of technology and bioinformatics, things are constantly becoming obsolete. This book is one of those things. The first few pages are good overview, if a bit simplified, but ultimately so many programs are available now that were not then and vice versa. The only relevant tools from this may be BLAST? Save your money and just use online resources.
