Centrosome components have been linked to multiple diseases, and the demonstration of frequent centrosome abnormalities in many human tumours has revived interest in the role of this organelle during carcinogenesis. This book summarizes our current knowledge of the structure, function and evolution of centrosomes and related microtubule-organizing centres.
