Are you a writer...you need this book
Any would-be fiction writer should buy this book. Few people know how to create characters as real as does Orson Scott Card. What's even better is he knows what good writing is and how to get it.
The book has sections on "Inventing Characters", "Constructing Characters" and "Performing Characters". Wouldn't you like to write a story with an Ender or a Bean..or even a Valentine as your main protagonist? This book will help you do that.
As for writing Science Fiction, you might want to search out Card's "How to Write Science Fiction and Fantasy," which concentrates on writing for those markets.
