Connections to the World by relating the triangular relationships among the elements of philosophy Subjects, Representations, and the World Also there are three lines of values that connect them. Danto by relating how the elements an their values change as Danto guides the reader into understanding the basic philosophical problems of Understanding, Knowledge, and the World, Danto addition of the role of the Subject (lacking in What Philosophy Is)) and his hammering home of the important of philosophy as providing external context to all the other bodies of knowledge.
This book should be outlined read and reread until the philosophical view becomes a habit of mind. It is a tribute that the one of the greatest enemies of the Western Tradition of Philosophy the late Richard Rorty is quoted on the cover of the book.
