Well-told tale of our clumsiness
Snepp so irritated the CIA with this memoir of his and US last years in the Saigon CIA station that they took him to court (successfully, I'm sad to say).
He writes well and provides an up-close view of the end of US days there and the CIA and Embassy culture during that time. It is a far more engaging account than most you might have encountered because it is so very much "first hand" in its accounts.
