It was evident that there was here a real feeling about for points of approximation, as well as a real effort frankly to define points of difference that was hardly less helpful. The weighty speech of Dr. Salmond at the end of this discussion (iii. 58, p. 172 f.) took hold of three points in particular on which there seemed to be an encouraging amount of agreement.
