Dawn Cook tells a good story about the journey of Alissa to find out who she really is. In First Truth, Alissa feels drawn to a mysterious place across the mountains, and must overcome many obstacles, (some of them mental), in her quest to find the Hold, where the promise of knowledge awaits. Headstrong and stubborn, she must learn to help, and to accept help along her path. I recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy, magic, and dragons. The story is well told, and was a delight to read.
