The culmination of 40 years of studying and writing about our species psychosis, Freedom delivers nothing less than the holy grail of insight we have needed to free ourselves from the human condition. It is, in short, as Professor Harry Prosen, a former president of the Canadian Psychiatric Association, asserts in his Introduction, the book that saves the world! Griffith has been able to venture right to the bottom of the dark depths of what it is to be human and return with the fully accountable, true explanation of our seemingly imperfect lives. At long last we have the redeeming and thus transforming understanding of human behaviour! And with that explanation found all the other great outstanding scientific mysteries about our existence are now also able to be truthfully explained of the meaning of our existence, of the origin of our unconditionally selfless moral instincts, and of why we humans became conscious when other animals haven't. Yes, the full story of life on Earth can finally be told and all of these incredible breakthroughs and insights are presented here in this greatest of all books.

How many times have you chosen a book on the basis of the cover and later regretted your choice? Well this is the opposite. I was browsing books on human nature and saw a cover with this wonderfully optimistic sun bursting forth, and thought that I had to have it. I know now that it is the most perfect cover for this perfect book that brings forward the dawning of the this knowledge about why we humans are absolutely good. It is the beginning of a new world for all of us and I cant recommend it enough. Read it.

Being an insatiably curious individual, I was intrigued by the person behind this mammoth book, this ambitious yet un-egocentric undertaking to solve the world's crises almost single-handedly without the backing of a research institute or tenureship, and I was not surprised to find the author to be someone who's always run their own race. Griffith's fierce independence permeates this entire book, its tone and its defiance of the establishment. He's an outlier of epic proportions. No one "inside the cave", as he puts it, using Plato's cave allegory, could have pulled this off. It's just up to all of us "inside the cave" to have the courage and integrity to make that first step out into the sunshine.

Humans have always confounded me
A cracking read. Humans have always confounded me and I feel like I've finally been given God's blueprint! Not in a religious sense, just that the universe now seems coherent! Such a relief.

It's a human responsibility to read this book.
I feel a bit out of my depth writing a review for this book because it's so hard to describe and every single reader's going to have a very personal reaction to it, but still, I think it's a human responsibility to read this book, and then a responsibility to tell others about it. So that's what I'm doing. This book is a must-read!
