i personally love the environment books for d&d 3.5. they take the basics of a terrain or environment and also discuss the magical or dire equivalent of that environment. in this case it is the frostfell. each of the environment books contain a smattering of the cultures found there or those that travel through the area. they include spells that are effective or are influenced by that environment, and they have a nice selection of creatures and monsters that make their home there. there is generally a playing mat in the back of the book, and there are seed ideas for adventures. the environment books have always been among my favorites in the d&d books, and frostburn is my favorite among them. of course, i love winter, so.....
