A book on the Construction of Graphical Charts appeared in 1910 and one on Graphic Methods in 1914 but neither one treated the subject from the same standpoint. The first book was mathematical and the second contained no mathematics at all. It required the training of an engineer to understand the first while the principles contained in the second could be com prehended by the average man Of business. The author believes there is a demand for a book embracing both the fields mentioned above, but not entering the field of maps, orthographic projection or Graphical Statics. The matter contained in such a book should be presented in such a way as to be readily understood by anyone with a common school education or higher and he or she ought to be able to construct or interpret the charts described therein.
