I have a background as an engineer and have taken vocational school education twice - but most importantly, the experience I have gained in practice, out in the field. This experience has taught me how crucial it is that maintenance is not just seen as repairs after failures, but that it is planned and integrated strategically to ensure reliable, safe and profitable operation. This book is the result of my passion for the maintenance profession, combined with new technology. The text is generated using artificial intelligence (AI), a tool that I believe will play an increasingly important role in the years to come. For many of us who have worked in the industry for a long time, it may seem unusual to have a "digital assistant" put together theory, methods and examples. However, I believe that the combination of extensive experience, solid education and an openness to new digital opportunities allows us to elevate the maintenance profession to a whole new level.
