History repeats itself only as the lives and actions of men repeat them selves; the individual thinks in the line of some person on the stage of action in the past, and acts accordingly. A nation does the same thing, like results follow, and we say history repeats itself. It is but an event emanating from the same cause. Like causes produce like results.
