I like this text a lot. The authors clearly state the basic rules of algebra, provide plausible support for the rules, and work out examples in sufficient detail. There are lots of real-world applications to the material that attempt to answer the age0old question, "When does anyone ever use this stuff?" I highly recommend the optional online MathXL for homework, assistance with homework, and quizzes.
