The bookworm grandson recommended this to me as his 'favorite book'. It's a graphic, written/illustrated in comic book fashion which irritated me (I don't like illustrations), but which seems necessary for the story (importance of a Superman comic he received as a small child while a relative was dying)which is rich, nuanced, unusual and life-affirming coupled with a throw-away casualness. So glad the grandson recommended it.
