The Lamb and the Book with the even Seals. Michael and the Dragon. The Day of Judgment. In early times the scenes bearing on the doctrines of Christianity and the teaching of our Lord were chosen in preference to all others; whereas, from the thirteenth to the fifteenth centuries, the sufferings of Christ and the divine character of the Virgin were most dwelt upon.
