During my twenty-five-year career in the military, and specifically and a military police officer I have found blessings and curses. During a dissociative/psychotic episode, in 2013, it was revealed to me just how much I had lost myself while trying to excel as both soldier, mother and wife and forced me to survive amid deteriorating mental health without understanding what was happening to me. I spent many years surviving through fight and flight responses while feeling constantly tense because I couldn't understand what to do which led me to conclude suicide was my only choice. The attempt failed but I went through a near death experience where I left my body and watched myself from a spiritual view above my physical form. During this vision I understood I had two choices: either keep my current life with my husband and three children and die little by little or to choose me to transform my self. I CHOSE ME! My choice to pick myself as the priority led me to commit to healing and building a better existence. I received diagnoses for complex post traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder. This brought about the decision to approach my healing process with an alternative method. Despite fifteen years of therapy sessions with psychologists and counselors, my healing progress remained limited to only temporary relief from pain.
