Haven't read all the way through but its helping me to feel more relaxed and destressed and feel better when my depression has me in a spiral down. Cheers me up and helps me realize I am not alone when I am in pain or dealing with health issues. Different.

Very spiritual book; clarifies the Bible
In spite of the strange cover here depicted (Eddy removed pictures of herself from her books in later editions, didn't want any focus on herself as a personality), the book is undoubtedly past price. Non-linear reasoning style that may take a bit of getting used to for some readers. A deeply spiritual and profoundly Christian book, it explains the Scriptures on such a spiritual level that statements in the Bible that seem to contradict each other can be completely reconciled by the reader, after beginning to base thinking on this more spiritual level. It gives the reader a way to find his/her direct connection to God. It also explains how Jesus and so many others in the Bible were able to heal the sick through prayer, and teaches the reader how to begin to be able to do this, too. Brings Christ much closer, shows deeper meanings of Jesus' life and works and words. Has a wonderful chapter on prayer, helpful chapter on marriage, plus atonement, physiology, more. Not intellectualism but an open heart is the best approach to reading this work profitably.

NEWFOUND FAITH
Although it may not please everyone, I praise this book to the highest. A close second is "A Course In Miracles." I haven't gone to a western medic for over 20 years by reading Science and Health and "A Course In Miracles" and have stayed healthy by not panicking. The fact that self-esteem should include staying well without giving an arm and a leg to western medicine practicing (traditional western medicine - "TWM" herein) should be enough to motivate a search for an alternative to drugs, and other strange behaviors. It is a giant leap of faith to give up the ways of your parents if they were steeped in TWM, but look what it did to them, if you need a pin-prick to help you jump. I could say a million words to explain why old western medicine is ill-advised and yet I'll just say that reading Eddy's book has saved many people who have suffered and suffered and then were healed by reconnecting to their Souls to find the love and Self-esteem that transcends physical manifestations of the psychological-emotion causes. Medics are beginning to accept that the mind and spirit of a person are predominantly what determine 'his' health -- they call this "New Medicine." New Medicine will use alternative methods of healing (we call that the holistic approach) and this book, Science and Health with a key to the scriptures ("S&H"), is and was the right prescription for thousands, maybe millions of people. It's not a joke to be the ruler of your own future -- you have to be a grown up. If you fail, it is your own responsibility, not someone else's. When you give yourself over to something else -- like drugs -- you are in effect giving some of your responsibility away. Of course, if you're trained to use TWM this may takes years to reach that point of staying healthy by willing it so, and it's worth trying. You know you have a spirit that can be a friend to you or not. By reading "S&H" you can at least seek to heal your mind-spirit connection first so you don't make decisions based on ignorance. This silly hearsay example of S&H that asks what you would do if you broke your leg, you'd either wake up from your ego dream or get a professional to set your leg and put a cast on. I believe a nurse can do that. Best love to everyone.
