The first passage is taken from the 8vo black-letter Dialog betuix Experience ami arte Courteour (otherwise known as the Monarche), 11. 538-684, printed at "Copmawhoun" and dated 1552 (but printed at St Andrews in 1554); the second is from The Dreme, 11. 799-1036, also printed at the same press. Both texts are taken from the rare copies in the volume of Lyndsay's poems in the Library of the University of Edinburgh (De. 6. 35).
