Near Fine. Book. 8vo-over 7¾-9¾" tall. Recently bound in period-style red half-morocco over paper-covered boards, with raised bands and gilt title-labels to spines. Edges toned and uncut (indeed the signatures are in the greater part unopened). Some mild intermittent foxing and staining to text in the main two volumes, with heavier staining and old (1823) owner's name to title-page in the General Introduction volume, but in all very bright and near fine. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat--a sound and very handsome set. Large folding map in Volume I well-preserved and bright with just a short closed tear (1 cm. ) near stub. Small map in Volume II fine and partially hand-coloured. Engraved title-pages in Volumes I & II; half-title present in General Introduction volume. All plates, plans and folding maps present and very fine: three maps (two folding), two engraved title-pages, and one plan.
