Seller's Description:
Very Good+ 306pp octavo black hardcover, residue on back board, but boards otherwise glossy, binding tight. text, illustrations, and figures clean and crisp throughout.
After reading several books on particle physics, I like this book best for general science readers. This book has the simplest explanations of how they discovered the particles. You only need to know some simple arithmetic to read the book. It also covers some cosmology in easy to understand language.
The best part of this book is the appendix on Particle Detectors!
I finally understand how several of these devices work.
The appendix is more technical than the general book.
