This book has an interesting premise - an ex Buddhist monk turned police officer and then private eye. And Ten is likable enough as a character, although his Buddhist musings are sometimes more annoying than thought provoking. The premise of the book starts out in a plausible way but by the end the absurdities pile on until you are left scratching your head wondering if it was written in hopes of becoming some silly action movie. I will not be reading any morre of this series.
