This novel is a feast for the lover of both the history of the visual arts and the written word. Really a wonderful novel with gripping, well-developed characters and unexpected plot turns.

tres imaginative
What an interesting concept. An unsuccessful, dissatisfied New York artist takes part in a drug trial and goes back in time to become one of the greatest artists of Europe. The kind of novel I love to read - imaginative, complex, and well-written. Michael Gruber has just become one of my newest favorite authors.

Mental Illness and Art
Story is entwinded with current art and historic art scene through the mind of one artist. Is the painting authentic and is life authentic or the forgery made by insanity. Wonderful writing style and intrigue.
