This is a lovely book, really, but very detailed on gardening - spending a long time detailing every flower, every sprout, etc... I think the best reader would be an avid, obsessive gardener - the person who longingly reads bulb catalogs all winter and spends a lot of time digging in the actual dirt. Beautiful writing! It can get a bit boring for the average country/rural lover, though.
