Bookplate of Lella Cotton. ***Book is inscribed "For Queen Lella with Love from Herman Scheffauer, London, January 26th 1912." **Laid in: newspaper clipping with picture of Scheffauer with details about his infamous crime and death. Scheffauer was born in San Francisco in 1878 and jumped to his death out of a window in 1927 in Berlin after murdering a woman by slitting her throat! Scarce title in excellent condition.
