It is thought that the work proposed is within the reach of the more mature pupils in the Sunday school, although the needs of college and theological students have been kept especially in mind. The general results of modern historical criticism have been taken as a basis for the work, since it is only from the point of view of his tory that these subjects may now be considered intelligently.
