Very Good in Very Good jacket. First edition. Drawings by Edward Gorey. Oblong octavo. Pictorial green cloth. Endpapers slightly foxed with faint foxing on page edges, a few small soil spots on the cover, very good in a very good dust jacket with a couple short closed tears on the rear panel, and toning on the spine and panels. Inscribed by Heide with a small sketch of a smiley face to children's book author, Alvin Tresselt: "[? ] to Alvin, Florence Parry Heide, October 29, 1971." Tresselt was a prolific author of children's books. His book, *White Snow, Bright Snow, * illustrated by Roger Duvoisin was awarded the 1948 Caldecott Medal. The story of a young boy who begins shrinking, and his parents hardly notice. The basis for an upcoming computer-animated film directed by Ron Howard from a screenplay by Rob Lieber.
