These poems offer a unique window into the life and thoughts of the author, which is quite rare in her later work. Many of the poems are close to their original versions (updated versions of many of them appear in books that have already been published, though most of the pieces appear for the first time in this book). The poems are dated, so that readers would have an idea of the day and time when they were written. Even though the poems are very personal, they are easy to follow and understand. The average person would be able to relate to them.
