This book changed my life. I had never recognized that I was in a verbally abusive relationship until I read this book, but when I learned the signs of such a relationship, I said, "that's me!" This book has concrete strategies for stopping the abuse. I tried them out, and it worked! The amount of yelling, interrupting, dismissive or insulting comments has dropped dramatically. I've learned to set boundaries and not allow anyone to compromise those boundaries. My husband and I are able to engage in meaningful discussions about our conflicts. I highly recommend this book.

this book Made me feel real again that someone understood where i had been and what really happened to me. I made me feel human again and that I wasn't a lunitick!

The book was recommended by my counselor. I found the book to have answers to certain behavior issues.

Those put-downs!
Although this book is good, I still prefer the book, "Men who hate women and the women who love them" by Dr. Forward. The Forward book seemed to delve more deeply into the subject, was more readable or applicable.
