His wife dame Margret by his fide, Lyes there likewife for troth: Their armes as yet may be tryed, (In honor of them both) Stands at their heads, three lyons white He gives as well he might: Three ravens blacke, in fhieldfhe gives, As daughter to a knight. A fheafe of arrowes under head, He hath as due to him: Thus there thefe worthie couple lye, In tombe full fine and trim, Now in another paffing tombe, Of beautie and of charge, There lyes a fquire (that Harbert hight) With coft fet out at large. Two daughters and fixe fonnes alfo, Are there fet nobly forth: With other workes that makes the fhowe, And monument more worth. Himfelfe, his wife, and children to, Lyes fhrouded in that feate: Now fomewhat for that fquire I do, Becaufe his race was great. He was the father of that earle, That dyed lord fleward late, A man of might, of fpreet moft rare, And borne to happie fate. His father layd fo richly here, So long agoe withall, Shewes to the lookers on full cleere, (When this to mynd they call) This fquire was of an auncient race, And borne of noble blood: Sith that he dyed in fuch a cace, And left fuch worldly good, To make a tombe fo rich and brave: Nay further now to fay, The three white lyons that he gave In armes, doth rare bewray: And makes them blufh and hold downe browe, That babble out of fquare.
