This is a collection of early essays by the important English radical, husband of Mary Wollstonecraft, father of Mary Shelley. Includes commentary on Body and Mind, Of the Rebelliousness of Man, Of the Liberty of Human Actions, Of Belief, etc. St Clair notes: "Thoughts on Man was intended as an update of the influential Enquirer of 1797 and was likely, he claimed, to be his most enduring contribution to the history of progress."
