College reading
I read this book along with Cry, the Beloved Country while a junior at Baker University.
The theme of interracial relations is a tough one but is realistic. RAMA, by Arthur C.
Clark dealth with an earth on which everyone was of mixed race. The truth is that
we are all a conglomerate of different peoples. Some say, a melting pot. I had the
pleasure of visiting with a temporary roommate from Botswana during my junior
year and there really was not much discussion about race relations because basically
they were good. It was a short three week visit but I appreciate Baker for having placed him
with me. It gave me a perspective I didn't have up until that point.
