What an amazing book. I read Susan Sontag's posthumus book of essays. One of them, I believe the one about literature, talked about Laxness's book and how it contained all the elements that define a novel. She made it sound so interesting I couldn't resist ordering it. I was glad I did. It is very "nordic" in flavor and quite a mix of fantasy, imagination and reality.
