How was that washed? A. There was only one line of sluice-boxes through the winter dump. Q. Where was that with reference to the surface of the ground? A. It was down near the surface, probably 2 feet above the surface, I suppose, at the upper end; maybe nearer the surface in the lower end in order to get grade. I am not positive about that. Q. How far was it from the dump where the tail ings emptied upon the surface, or dropped upon the surface of the ground there?
