This book is described as an updated version of his earlier Molecule Hunt which, I have to grudgingly admit that is just about true. Rather than rewrite his previous book, Jones simply added an afterword to each chapter containing a review of changes that had occurred in the intervening years and these "clip-ons" do contain references to work published at least as recently as 2014. However, it would seem that updating the bibliography was a step to far and this is disappointing. I would also liked to have seen more on his current research on the movement of foodstuffs between Asia and Europe. Other than that it is a readable review of advances in molecular archaeology.
