I found Lucarini's story so insightful that I put a copy of the book in the church library, and gave several to friends and family. When someone has gone "deep in" and been rescued, they are more sensitive to the vaguest signs of the problems than those who have never suffered the problem. Lucarini's most striking statement was to remind us that the apostle Paul said he would give up meat if eating it would offend his brother. Yet church music ministries offend their congregations continually with music styles that distress them in the name of being "cutting edge" and attractive to the man on the street. The fact that worship is to be about the worth-ship of God needs to be remembered and practiced.
