First of all, the cover of the book is gorgeous and one of the best designed covers I've seen. Everything included is an important part of the story and it was a joy to look at and find the story pieces as I read along this lyrical and richly told tale.
The author immediately pulled me into this world and I could see, hear, smell, taste, and feel what the characters experienced. The stakes were always high and the choices were never easy for her characters, which made this book not only fun to read, but difficult to put down. The world building was well done and the magic never made me a disbeliever.
The suspense and mystery, as well as the slow-burn romance and budding friendships, made this book one of my favorite fantasies. I even learned much about another culture and some Spanish. I turned to the glossary/backmatter often and appreciated this being included to make my reading experience even better.

Ethereal and Darkly Glittering
Woven in Moonlight is a beautifully whimsical and folksy tale of magic and bravery. The magic in this story is so beautiful and unique. The way the characters are connected to the night sky, and can read the stars and weave moonlight into thread, it's all so ethereal and darkly glittering.
This book is full of fantastically strong female characters, and I love the way that real culture is blended with the fantasy world of Inkasisa. There is a distinctly classic fantasy feel to it on some ways, but at the same time the whole world and setting feel unique.
There are some similar elements to the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black, and I think if you like those characters you will greatly enjoy the characters in Woven In Moonlight. Recommended for fans of folk tales, fantasy and exciting adventures with strong characters.
