Aileen Fyfe

Aileen Fyfe is Professor of Modern History at the University of St Andrews. She is a social and cultural historian of science and technology, and has written extensively about the communication of science, and the history of academic publishing more broadly. Her books include A History of Scientific Journals: Publishing at the Royal Society , 1665-2015 (UCL Press, 2022), Steam-Powered Knowledge: William Chambers and the Business of Publishing 1820-1860 (Chicago University Press, 2012) and Science and Salvation: Evangelicals and Popular Science Publishing in Victorian Britain (Chicago University Press, 2004).
