Alex Beam

Alex Beam has written two novels and seven works of non-fiction, two of them New York Times Notable Books of the Year. In 2014, he published American Crucifixion , a narrative history of the assassination of the Mormon prophet Joseph Smith. The Wall Street Journal called it "an excellent book about the life and death of an utterly uncategorizable man." A longtime columnist for The Boston Globe , Beam lives with his family in Newton, Massachusetts.
