Brendan Batty has spent the last ten years travelling Australia by caravan, motorhome and four-wheel drive, both in his role as editor of a number of Australia's premier caravanning and camping magazines, as well as plenty of family trips with his wife and their three young children. The longest of these trips, over nine months, covered roughly 25,000km and took them to some of the most amazing places in Australia. A passionate lover of older caravans (his own is a 1981 Viscount Grand Tourer), campsites where there's somewhere to surf or the fishing is great (or both!), he's crossed Australia in everything from a beat-up, old Nissan Patrol to the latest, full-featured motorhomes. He's fixed both on the side of the road with fishing wire. Currently managing editor and owner of ROAM magazine, he's also been editor of Australian Caravan+RV , as well as a number of magazines on four-wheel driving, camping and camper trailers. See less
