Christopher Flanagan was born in Derry in 1976 and went to school in Scoil Mhuire in Buncrana, Co. Donegal in the North West of Ireland. Following this he completed an Engineering Degree in University College Dublin and graduated in 2000. He then took his first job in DBFL Consulting Engineers in Dublin where he designed apartment blocks and commercial buildings. He took his second engineering job in RPS Consulting Engineers and worked primarily on the M50 Motorway Project in Dublin. After 4 years of engineering he realised he had a bigger calling in the world of business and joined his father in furniture retail in 2004. He incorporated his first company in 2008. It was an event management company he incorporated to help market the furniture retail business. With this company he ran Ideal Home Exhibitions throughout Ireland hosting up to 100 companies at each show. The shows attracted excellent publicity having managed to get Ireland's state broadcaster to cover a number of the shows on prime time TV. He launched flanagans.ie in 2012 and it attracts 25,000 unique visitors each month. This was one of the most exciting developments of his career. Now at 38 years of age, with a devoted wife and 3 young children. He is turning to his more creative side. It is more fun. He started out as an engineer with a keen interest in innovation and business. Always seeking an opportunity to innovate he turned his hand in building design, event management, furniture design and retail. But nothing compares to writing children's books where anything is possible. He now enjoys a world of unrestrained imagination and he's here to stay. See less
