Elizabeth Dowling

Elizabeth Dowling is a Sister of Mercy and an independent biblical scholar living in Ballarat, Australia. After completing her doctoral studies in 2005, she lectured in biblical studies at Australian Catholic University for more than ten years. Elizabeth Dowling is a Sister of Mercy and an independent biblical scholar living in Ballarat, Australia. After completing her doctoral studies in 2005, she lectured in biblical studies at Australian Catholic University for more than ten years. She specializes in the study of the New Testament, in particular the Gospel of Luke, reading from an ecofeminist perspective. Elizabeth is the author of a monograph, Taking Away the Pound: Women, Theology and the Parable of the Pounds in the Gospel of Luke, LNTS 324 (T&T Clark International, 2007), as well as numerous journal articles and book chapters.
