She is a proud "Ostomate," and her first book, So Much More than My Ostomy: Loving My Perfectly Imperfect Body (2021) was written to empower those navigating the new challenges of life after ostomy surgery. As a child abuse survivor, Ellyn has dedicated herself to sharing her story of healing from intergenerational trauma both through this novel and speaking engagements.
