Hugh Hunter has enjoyed a career in the upper echelons of the technology and learning world. He is currently Vice President of Learning and Development at Simulation Development Group, LLC/Simulation Studios, a business training software firm, which he describes as "a handful of ex-computer geeks, designers and business executives." Innovative corporate training software is Hugh's passion, and he creates solutions for some of the world's most profitable global companies. Hugh began his career at Apple while still in college before moving on to Learning Technology Group where he focused on cutting-edge solutions for educational technology in collaboration with Apple's education team. He then moved on to Apple, where he spent almost ten years. He started out as an educational markets systems engineer, winning a Golden Apple award in his first year, before taking a product-marketing role for Apple software including MacOS X and more. This was followed by building and running eLearning partnerships, marketing, and business-expansion projects in Apple's worldwide developer relations group. During his time at Apple, he won an MVP award five times as well as Apple's "Way To Go" award. Hugh also assisted Steve Jobs with his keynote presentations in addition to work on the original version of Mac OS X. After Apple, Hugh held senior positions at Skype, where he was responsible for their strategic desktop software offerings. This included Skype for Macintosh and Linux, where the active user base grew well over 100% annually under his watch. He spearheaded Skype's product initiative with Intel and Apple mobile markets. In this role, Hugh was responsible for strategically managing and growing a $60M+ annual revenue business globally. Hugh's experience gives him the ability to combine business strategy, innovative learning, and technology. He is equally at home in front of a computer or an audience, and relishes the challenges of making connections in an increasingly global tech environment. Hugh has a degree in organizational communications and an MBA in entrepreneurial economics. He actively volunteers at The Taproot Foundation and, teaches classes in presentation skills. He especially enjoys spending time with his family. He runs the site business-simulations.org See less
