Kate Monroe is an author and journalist who lives in a quiet and inspirational corner of southern England. She has penchants for the colour black, horror, and loud guitars, and a fatal weakness for red wine. She is an unashamed geek, with a deep love for Doctor Who and Star Trek (Tom Baker will forever be her Doctor, and Patrick Stewart her captain). Gary Oldman's turn as Dracula fostered a lifelong passion for Victoriana and the world of steampunk, but despite the fact that she specialised in history and literature, her one great love is for science. Nothing entrances her quite as much as theorising on all the mysteries our world has yet to reveal. Her interests in writing range from horror to erotica, taking in historical romance, steampunk and tales of the paranormal on the way; whatever she dreamed about the night before is liable to find its way onto the page in some form or another. Kate has had short stories published in anthologies by Angelic Knight Press, Sirens Call Publications, Pink Pepper Press, Cruentus Libri Press, Rainstorm Press, Scarlett River Press and Smart Rhino Publications. Her debut novel, The Falcon's Chase, was published by Pink Pepper Press in 2012. Carpe Nectum is her first full-length horror novel. Find out more at http: //kateserenmonroe.com. See less
