Lawrence "Lee" Allen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1950. He earned a Bachelor's degree in History from Capital University, where he met and married his lifelong partner, Susan Elizabeth Wahl Allen. Lawrence "Lee" Allen was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1950. He earned a Bachelor's degree in History from Capital University, where he met and married his lifelong partner, Susan Elizabeth Wahl Allen. After graduation, Lee was commissioned into the United States Air Force, where he served his country with pride for twenty years, rising to the rank of Major. During this time, he also obtained a Master's degree from Texas Christian University.After retiring from military service, Lee found a new passion-education. For over 26 years, he worked as a beloved substitute teacher at Valley View and West Haven Elementary Schools in Weber County, Utah. A natural storyteller, Lee often shared imaginative tales with his students, inspired by the bedtime stories his great-grandmother once told him.Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Lee published his first children's book, The Little White Wolf, during his lifetime. He later collaborated with his wife on two more stories: The Little Green Dragon and The Proper Little Witch. Although Lee passed away before these latter books were published, he knew that he had achieved his dream of becoming a children's author, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and imagination.Susan Wahl Allen was born in Ohio in 1949 and graduated from a small rural school before earning her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. It was there that she met and married Lee Allen. As a military spouse, she taught elementary students in various parts of the world as she and Lee traveled throughout his military career.After settling in Roy, Utah following Lee's retirement, Susan continued her work in education, teaching full-time and later serving as a substitute teacher and tutor for over a decade. She supported Lee in writing and publishing The Little White Wolf, and after his passing, carried on their shared vision by editing and completing The Little Green Dragon and The Proper Little Witch.Together, their stories live on-delighting young readers and honoring the storytelling legacy that meant so much to them both.
